Thing 19: Virtual and augmented reality

Virtual reality:

I tried out the 3D glasses in some exhibitions. They show some sceneries and with the glasses, I could be very close to the action. It was crazy and the first time I moved in the virtual space with the glasses I often touched the real walls.
I also once got the chance to try some virtual roller coasters with a moving chair. It was really scary, so realistic. I was about to quit the game because I was starting to feel sick.

Augmented Reality:

Even in times of a pandemic, like now, all museums are closed. But many of them offer different solutions. You can visit some exhibitions and also watch some presentations. This is also a big advantage for disabled people. Also, if there is no possibility to travel to different countries. I found many different things to do online. I have planned my office with the Ikea kitchen planner because it was a perfect solution to check the available space.

Thing 17+18: Online Games & Learning Apps

II’m sorry, but I don’t like online games. When my children were younger, they played little online games a lot. I like to have all the documents and books in digital versions. For learning, I have tried to do this digitally as well, but it doesn’t work for me. Using a pen and paper is my personal learning style.

Thing 13: Get (more) digital when presenting your work

When creating presentations, I have to make sure that everyone can read this information. To ensure this, I have to use standard tools. I have tried Prezi and it looks really nice, but for technical presentations it is not so useful. In this article I visited the Prezi site and found out that this tool is now easy to use in combination with Zoom and Teams. I will test these features soon. To ensure the international usability of my presentation I mostly use Microsoft Office programs.

For online training, Zoom to Teams is my most used tool. I chose Zoom because at that time it was the only tool that could also release the screen of my tablet for drawing sketches and also for displaying the functions within the APP.
